STUDIO POLICIES
As of Monday, August 31st, 2009, the fees for lessons will be as follows:
45 minute lesson: $39 total $546
1 hour lesson: $45 total $630
I am also going to a semester-based system. Fall Semester 2009 will be comprised of 14 lessons.
Lessons will be optional on Labor Day, Memorial Day and Martin Luther King Holiday
For those who would like to have bi-weekly or occasional lessons, the rate is as follows:
45 minute lesson: $42
1 hour lesson: $48
The studio will be open Monday through Thursday. I am available for morning lessons and lessons should be concluded by 7:30 PM.
Please note the following: Thanksgiving week (Monday 11/23 - Sunday 11/29) as well as December 14th through January 3rd the studio will be closed.
Winter and Spring semester schedules will be published at a later time.
Payment for the FULL semester is required regardless of lessons missed by the student. ONLY IN THE CASE OF SEVERE OR LIFE THREATENING ILLNESS, OR SEVERE INJURY, WILL CREDIT BE GIVEN. THERE WILL BE NO ADJUSTMENT TO THE TUITION UNDER ANY OTHER CIRCUMSTANCE.
Paying Tuition:
As always, I do not charge any administrative or recital fees in my studio. I only charge lesson fees.
It is much easier for me to receive payment in full, so that I do not have to keep track of missed, or miscalculated payments.
Payment Options:
PAYMENT PLAN I (full payment): Payment in full due at or before first lesson
PAYMENT PLAN II (2 payments): One-half due at or before first lesson
Second (final) payment due by the week of October 12
PAYMENT PLAN III (3 payments): One-third due at or before first lesson
Second payment due by the week of October 5
Third (final) payment due by the week of November 9
Late Fees:
A late fee of $10 will be charged for late payments. There is a $20 charge for any check returned by the bank.
Don’t miss lessons:
Making a habit of missing lessons, or missing a lesson and expecting credit or make-up is not acceptable, and clearly outlined in the policy. Please review the policy if you have questions.
Student Cancellations:
No refunds or adjustments in tuition will be made for students withdrawing from lessons after the fourth week in the semester.
Lessons missed by the student will not be refunded for any reason; Only one make up per semester will be allowed at my discretion on a time available basis. Make-up lessons are not cumulative, i.e. if you don't use your make-up the first semester, you can't have two at the end of the second semester.
Teacher Cancellation and Inclement Weather:
There will be times when I will have to be absent due to a performance and generally I will know ahead of time. Credit will always be given in the event of my absence for performance or if I am sick. There will be no refunds.
In general, the studio will follow Forsyth County Public School's plan for inclement weather. Since I teach mostly in the afternoons you may choose to come to your lesson if you feel that the roads are safe.
Arriving on time to the studio:
Students must arrive at least 5 minutes before lessons. Lesson time will not be extended due to tardiness.
Take the time BEFORE lessons to use the restroom. Please wash your hands, or use hand sanitizer, especially during cold and flu season. Please make sure your nails are trimmed. Have ALL books and materials. Please turn off all communication devices, or put them on vibrate.
General:
Remember--the studio is an extension of my private residence and must be regarded (and respected) as such. Absolutely no food or drinks are allowed. Bottled water is provided if needed.
Please remember to remove your shoes, or wipe your feet before entering. No spikes allowed.
Please help in maintaining the order and cleanliness of our home and studio. Remember to keep your personal belongings inside your bag, and not on top of my furniture.
Practice:
Daily practice (I repeat: DAILY practice) is essential for steady progress. Parents need to help students organize their schedules to include daily practice. Please use the following guidelines to consider minimum requirement for this activity.
--Beginning Students: 30 - 45 minutes daily
--Advanced Students: 60 minutes or longer
I reserve the right to dismiss a student for non-payment, excessive absences, lack of progress or unacceptable behavior.
And, most importantly, thanks for allowing me to be your teacher!
Best,
Federico Pivetta
